FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How To Care for Your Temporary Crown

Be mindful of your diet. You want to avoid anything hard or sticky (ie, ice, raw carrots, gum, caramel). Be careful when flossing. If you notice your floss is getting snagged on your temporary crown, slide the floss out. Do not pull the floss back between the teeth. Should your crown come off, please call the office to make an appointment for us to recement it. In the meantime if the crown goes back to place, you can place toothpaste inside your crown and bite it back to place. The paste will harden and act as a cement until your appointment.

  • Which Type of Toothbrush is Best: electric or manual?

Both toothbrushes are helpful. What is more important are the bristles and brushing frequency. If the bristles are getting flat and spread out, then you should replace your toothbrush. The bristles shouldn't be too hard, or they'll damage your teeth. It's also essential to brush twice a day.

  • Do I really need to floss every day?

Yes. Flossing every day helps remove the food that gets stuck in your teeth. It doesn't have to feel like popcorn for you to have leftovers in your teeth. Removing this also prevents plaque from building up. Flossing every day helps make your dentist appointments easier and faster, too.

  • How can I prevent cavities and tooth decay in my children's teeth?

    • Make sure you're using age-appropriate toothpaste.
    • Teach them to brush twice daily and supervise them to ensure they're doing it well.
    • Limit the amount of sugar they consume, especially sugary drinks.
    • Practice other good dental habits.
  • What should I do if I chip my tooth or lose a filling?

If you chip a tooth or lose a dental filling, it's important to seek dental care as soon as possible. If the damage is severe, you may need to have the tooth repaired or replaced. However, even if the damage is not severe, it's important to have dental care to ensure that your teeth remain healthy and strong. In addition, dental care can help to prevent further damage to your teeth. If you have dental insurance, be sure to check with your provider to see if they cover the cost of dental care. If you don't have dental insurance, many dental clinics offer affordable care. Dental care is an important part of maintaining your overall health, so be sure to seek dental care if you experience any damage to your teeth.
